It’s easy to be human

Why is it easier to believe in other people than it is to believe in ourselves? We see in others things that we fail to see in ourselves. This doesn’t mean we have nothing to offer to the world, it only means we have not paid enough attention to the person we are.

Today, more than ever, we are more aware of what is happening in the world than of what is going on inside our minds, and our souls. Start listening to the voice that comes from inside because it’s trying to remind you who you are. Be with yourself more often, and listen to your thoughts with no judgment. Ask them questions that are uncomfortable, and make peace with the answers.

Peace in the world is a nice fantasy, but for now, peace with ourselves is more important. Once peace and balance are found inside, space is created for tolerance, solidarity, empathy, and honesty. Once we are able to meet the world from a peaceful and truthful place, we bring value through just being.

It’s strange how the smallest of actions can have a huge impact on a person’s life. We might not be aware, but everything we do has an impact, on ourselves or the people around us. Actions and words are strong enough to create momentum in someone’s life, and by offering help when needed, we help ourselves also.

Help should never be measured by the giver, but rather by the receiver. Many times, we give a little, only to find that it has become a lot on the receiving end. This is not to say that our help should be limited, but rather that we should provide it with no prior assumptions or expectations.

Improving someone’s life because you genuinely care about them as human beings, is one of the most rewarding things that exist. In a world where a person’s value is measured by material gain, this might not be a popular opinion, but in the security of our home, we can be sincere, and embrace what makes us humans. I am aware that my ideas are not always correct, but I do believe that we would all benefit in a world where humanity would be encouraged and cherished, rather than be considered a mistake.
